Johnson was recruited by many of the top college basketball programs in the country, but he ultimately decided to attend Michigan State University. He played for the Spartans for three seasons, and he led the team to the NCAA championship game in 1979.

Johnson was selected first overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1979 NBA Draft. He immediately became a star for the Lakers, and he helped lead the team to the NBA championship in 1980.

Johnson was a gifted passer and scorer. He was also a good defender. He was one of the most popular players in the NBA, and he was known for his flashy style of play.

Johnson retired from the NBA in 1991 after testing positive for HIV. He returned to the NBA in 1996, but he retired again after the 1996 season.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was born in New York City in 1947. He was a star basketball player at Power Memorial Academy, and he led the team to the city championship in 1965.

Abdul-Jabbar was recruited by many of the top college basketball programs in the country, but he ultimately decided to attend UCLA. He played for the Bruins for three seasons, and he led the team to the NCAA championship in 1967, 1968, and 1969.

Abdul-Jabbar was selected first overall by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 1969 NBA Draft. He immediately became a star for the Bucks, and he helped lead the team to the NBA championship in 1971.

Abdul-Jabbar was a dominant scorer and rebounder. He was also a good defender. He was one of the most popular players in the NBA, and he was known for his signature skyhook shot.

Abdul-Jabbar retired from the NBA in 1989. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1995.

James Worthy

James Worthy was born in Gastonia, North Carolina, in 1961. He was a star basketball player at Ashbrook High School, and he led the team to the state championship in 1979.

Worthy was recruited by many of the top college basketball programs in the country, but he ultimately decided to attend the University of North Carolina. He played for the Tar Heels for three seasons, and he helped lead the team to the NCAA championship in 1982.

Worthy was selected first overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1982 NBA Draft. He immediately became a star for the Lakers, and he helped lead the team to the NBA championship in 1985.

Worthy was a versatile forward who could score, rebound, and defend. He was one of the most popular players in the NBA, and he was known for his high-flying dunks.

Worthy retired from the NBA in 1994. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2003.
